Accessor - small but very functional program which provides a quick access to main Windows functions, folders and documents. The program has a great number of useful features.
Besides, with help of given program you can manage your documents easily and comfortable using Hot keys or mouse click.

So, let's begin with description of Accessor.

Part 2. How to start.

After you run program you can see icon in right bottom corner of screen, in other words in system tray (pic.1).

By default, options for mouse actions on tray icon are set in the following way:

double click - open program settings window;
right button - open Main Menu of the program (pic. 2).

Main Menu commands can be devided (by their purpose) into 8 groups (pic. 2).

The first group of Main Menu contains a wide variety of Screen Savers and Wallpapers for Windows desktop. You can easily set or change them at any time.

The second group gives a fast access to Control Panel Items (pic.3).
Use Control Panel's powerful tools to customize your computer! It's the place to go to install new hardware, add and remove programs, change the look of your screen, and much, much more!

Now let's view in more detail the most frequently used Control Panel elements:

1. Control Panel is full of specialized tools that are used to change the way Windows looks and behaves. Some of these tools help you adjust settings that make your computer more easier and funny to use (pic.4).

2. Add/Remove Programs help you manage programs and components on your computer.
You can use it to add programs from a CD-ROM, floppy disk, or a network, or to add Windows updates and new features from the Internet.

Add or Remove Programs also help you add or remove Windows components you chose not to include in the original installation (such as Networking Services).

3. Screen Properties allow you select a theme to define the overall appearance of your desktop.
A theme determines your background, screen saver, Window fonts, colors and three-dimensional effects in windows and dialog boxes, the look of icons and mouse pointers, and sounds.

You can also specify color settings, change your screen resolution, and set the refresh rate for your monitor.

4. Modems Properties help to install modem hardware on your computer referring to the manufacturer's documentation.

5. Internet Properties consist of different useful resources that help you to create a new Internet connection, control Internet content that can be viewed on your computer, specify HTML editing program you want to use with Internet Explorer, set privacy level and many, many others.

 

6. System Properties help to do the following:

• view and change settings that control how your computer uses memory and finds certain information;
• find information about hardware and device properties, as well as configure hardware profiles;
• view information about your network connection and logon profile.

The third group represents momentary access to the following actions (pic.5):

1. Lock WorkStation is used for preventing everyone except you or a system administrator from unlocking your system and viewing any open files or programs.
2. Log Off allows to close your user account but the computer remains on for easy access the next time you log on.
3. Restart Windows helps to restart a local computer.
4. Shutdown Computer allows you to shut down or restart a local computer.

The fourth group serves to control CD-ROM tray: CD Eject and CD Close.

The fifth group represents the following 4 subject parts:

1. Process Administration (termination/addition of the processes) allows to look through the available windows in system with the description of the process itself (id windows, file path, process icon, window styles) (pic. 6);

Also there is an opportunity to Kill / Add necessary running applications quickly.

2. Kill User Process realizes termination of any running programs from popup menu in one click (pic. 7);

3. Windows Explorer displays the hierarchical structure of files, folders, and drives on your computer. It also shows any network drives that have been mapped to drive letters on your computer.
Using Windows Explorer, you can copy, move, rename, and search for files and folders.

4. Web Search maintains a list of most popular and frequently used World Web Search Engines (pic. 8).

The sixth group gives an opportunity to look through the File System (FDD, HDD, CD drives and Network drives) from icon on the system tray and run programs from Menu directly (pic. 9).

The seventh group represents Settings window that consists of 4 main parts (pic. 10):

1. Accessor tab is divided into 2 subgroups: Menu (Quick Folders) and Folders (Clear Quick Folders list, Remove/Add folder).

2. Restart/ ShutDown planner helps to set necessary time after the expiry of which your computer will be Restart/ShutDown. You should only check off necessary Menu Item and activate Restart/ShutDown Planner.

3. Hot Keys/ Parameters contain a list of commonly used Hot Keys that lighten your work with Accessor.

4. About is informational part where you can download latest version of program and it's help from program site and visit it, browse information about program version and registartion status.

The eighth group represents the following Menu Items:

• Quick Folders is intended for fast access to favorite and frequently used folders.
  You can access this list by pressing Quick Folders button which appears:
  
  - in standard "Open..."/"Save..." windows near the "Folder" listbox;
  - "Open..."/"Save..." dialog windows in all versions of Microsoft Office.
  
  
• Add Folder serves to add favorite and frequently used folders to the Quick Folders list.
