GoogImager features
With GoogImager you can:
both for Google and Altavista:
- use "history of queries" for repeat previous searches
with restoring all parameters of searching (unique for search
engines);
- specify logic conditions (and, or, not, exact)
and their combinations for an Image Search;
- either include or exclude certain domains in an Image Search;
- view specific page of search results, as it is urgent
for image search, because the loading of page with image preview
is a long process, and sometimes it is necessary to begin or to
continue the review of results from another page;
- search in specific country, for web pages, located in
national domains;
- search for pages, written on specific language (number
of languages depends of search engine);
- very convenient feature: you can switch between different
type of search by one click;
only for Google:
- search for images, text documents, Google Groups (Usenet archive)
or Google Directories (Open Directory Project);
- search for .PDF, .DOC, .XLS, PPT, .RTF files;
- search images by size, from icon-sized to wallpaper-sized;
- search images by coloration: black & white, grayscale
or full color;
- search for specific type of file - files with extensions
.jpg, .jpeg or .gif;
- search with specific language interface of Google;
- use two types of adult filter: Basic Adult Filter and
Special Images Adult Filter in various combinations;
- for non-English users: now you can search images
as well as English people - without changing the interface
language in Google
Preferences Page (http://www.google.com/preferences), and
if you like to turn off cookies in yours browser, but in
Google you have some problems with language change;
- one more important feature: you can search not only images
but also use GoogImager for Basic search (text documents) and
also for Google Topic-Specific searches: such as documents
concerning to Linux,
BSD, Macintosh,
and also on Governmental
sites (.gov and .mil);
- on Topic-Specific searches you can use all of the parameters
of the Advanced Search (this function is absent on Google
too);
- change type of search by one switch (in Google it is
necessary to pass between sections for access to Topic-Specific
searches and Image Searches, which are only possible from the
Advanced Search Page with the English-language interface).
Only for AltaVista:
- search images, texts, video and audio files;
- make advanced query without typing boolean operators.
